Business and research come together for Aquaculture Europe 17
InnoAquaTech was present at this year’s Aquaculture Europe conference, which took place in Dubrovnik. The project had secured a stand, where business and research representatives could find out more about the project, partners and our 4 pilot RAS projects.
AES 17 was one of the biggest aquaculture events of the year with more than 1600 participants from over 60 countries in Europe and beyond. This year’s theme was “Cooperation for Growth”, emphasising the synergies between research, business and innovation.
This is exactly what the enthusiastic project partners from the participating regions held in mind whilst talking to potential cooperation partners. The many participants were interested in understanding the South Baltic challenges that have given rise to the InnoAquaTech project and the growth potential for the area, as well as the innovative on-going pilots. Likewise, the project partners were keen to learn from and about the other exhibitors, such as facility builders, feed producers and topic related EU-projects at the event and gathered plenty of information on latest available technology. It was a good opportunity to make new contacts for upcoming research and technology field study visits on innovative aquaculture systems.
Rostock University presented aquaponics in one of the many interesting parallel sessions and the extensive poster exhibition (more than 200) that featured a poster from our Polish partners from Gdansk University, explaining their shrimp RAS pilot.
All in all, a successful and sunny conference for the InnoAquaTech partners!
