She received this award during the Blue Economy Business Awards 2016 ceremony which was part of the European Commission's Blue Economy Business and Science Forum in Hamburg, Germany on 12 September 2016.
"Her systematic approach to creating transnational partnerships for jointly initiating, implementing and showcasing projects and actions has proven an excellent way of triggering sustainable blue growth in the Baltic Sea Region, and has now become as a ‘model’ for similar networks in other European sea-basins.", the European Commission's DG MARE states in a press release.
Other winners in the award categories "Business of the Year" and "Rising Blue Star of the Year" are the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) from Orkney and the Belgian company Zenzor. Congratulations!
The European Commission organised the award to celebrate scientific and industrial achievements connected with the sea and to showcase excellent practices in the blue economy field.
